Low-Tech Process Based Restoration (LTPBR) Educational Workshop
Join the Montana Grassland Partnership’s Mesic Team for a workshop on August 18th (Landowners/Producers) or 19th (Agency/ NGO Partners) to learn more about Low Tech Process Based Restoration.
LTPBR restores the function of healthy streams with hand-built, low-cost structures made of natural materials (conifer branches, willows, rocks, and untreated wood posts). These structures can help keep water on the landscape longer, boost forage production near streams and flood plains, improve drought resilience, reduce erosion and more.
This workshop will be split into two sessions, one for landowners and one for agency/NGO partners:
Monday August 18th ,12- 5PM: Landowner and Producer Day
This day is geared towards landowners and producers who are interested in learning more about how LTPBR may benefit the landscape and their operation.
Topics include:
- Why LTPBR is important and the benefits to the landscape
- Resources available if you are interested in doing LTPBR work
- A landowner panel to hear from peers that have done LTPBR on their ranches
- A field visit to look at LTPBR structures in action!
Tentative Agenda:
12 pm: Meet at Matador Headquarters
12- 3 pm: Classroom portion to learn about LTPBR from professionals and peers
3-5 pm: Field visit to look at LTPBR structures on the landscape
