 ow-Tech\, High-Impact Restoration\nSometimes the simplest solutions have t
he biggest impact. Paul Jones with Tomichi Creek Ecosystem Services will e
 xplore Low-Tech Process-Based Restoration\, a hands-on approach to rebuild
ing natural water systems. Learn how mimicking beaver dams can improve wat
er retention\, restore riparian function\, and boost drought resilience us
ing minimal materials and practical techniques that bring lasting benefits
to your land and livestock.\n\nMore about Paul: He started his career wit
h the Colorado Division of Wildlife in July 1992 as a District Wildlife Ma
nager (Game Warden).  His first District the Littleton District\, where h
e worked until the spring of 1995\, when he transferred to the Gunnison Ea
st District.  There as part of his biological duties\, he was assigned as
the CDOW representative on the Gunnison Sage Grouse Working Group\, the f
irst collaborative sage-grouse working group in the west.  In 2001\, he l
ateraled into the Habitat Biologist Position for Area 16\, which morphed i
nto the Conservation Biologist position when the Habitat Section ceased to
exist.  In that role\, he negotiated and acquired eight CDOW conservatio
n easements\, five State Wildlife Areas\, and assisted with multiple third
-party conservation easements permanently protecting over 15\,000 acres of
important habitat for the Gunnison sage-grouse in the Gunnison and North
Fork Basins.  He also helped develop the template language for the umbrel
la Candidate Conservation Agreement with Assurances (CCAA) for the Gunniso
n sage-grouse\, which helped protect habitat for the species on 40 private
ranches.   In 2006\, took the Aquatic Conservation Biologist position f
or the Southwest Region.  In that position\, he worked with the Three Spe
cies (round tail chub flannel mouth and bluehead suckers)\, Rio Grande suc
ker and chub\, and boreal toads until he retired In 2018.   Since that t
ime\, he has started his own consulting company\, Tomich Creek Ecosystem S
ervices\, and focuses his work on wet meadow restoration\, and those gulli
ed systems that Dave Rosgen once said were too flashy to restore.\nEach se
